Yer Darn Tootin' Round Two

The Book of Jones will be presenting our pitch to be Your Next Favorite Musical next Thursday the 27th at 8 PM Pacific time. It was supposed to be a live competition last April but instead it's an online video, which means that you my dear friends who are far away can view it by following the links from here. If you miss it the first time, it should be archived at that site afterwards.

I watched Yer Darn Tootin. Sorry the benighted judges chose that unworthy competitor over your pitch. I liked it. Think the song about loving less was the best, both for lyrics and music. Stands well on its own. The pitch itself was very good. What's next?

I hope the lineage from Santa & Jimmy Claus is clear--the same anything-for-a-laugh pastiche of stock characters, taken from 30s movies rather than kid's shows, but this time with songs! I kind of wish we'd been able to do it live, for a faster, more madcap pace, but then we wouldn't have had those fine backdrops. And of course you wouldn't have been able to see it.

I'm not sure what's next for any kind of music, theatrical or other kind of performance for the next while. You and I should write a show, Jimmy.

Ok! I’m just wrapping up tomorrow a series of 6 “seminars” on the Greeks in relation to the Indian epics with my friend Arshia Sattar (check out her translation of the Ramayana). Have plenty of ideas!

The translation of the Ramayana I have is by Kamala Subrmaniam, which I got from you. Always room for another though.
