What's so funny about peace, love, and understanding?

Thanks for your concern. My little family and circle of friends and acquaintances has so far survived safely the ongoing assault in Mumbai. It's disturbing and saddening because the city is by nature very open, freewheeling, and nevertheless safe. This well-planned and coldly executed operation is like a war practiced on unarmed non-combatants - , yes, "innocent bystanders" like you and me who hadn't a clue they were engaged in mortal battle.
It's a massive bummer to see the places you frequent and the people you see everyday being savaged on TV by clear-eyed, baby-faced soldiers.
I'm hoping it doesn't escalate -- here or anywhere else.

I'm so glad to hear that you are all OK, although losing your sense of security is not OK. I hope that you will all stay safe, and take care of papa firestone when he visits.

I second all those emotions. Headed off to Sister katherine's house today for t-day with the family, then off to France on Monday night. I am excited, if unprepared. Unarmed too.
peace,
jim

Have special plans for Firestone that are all extremely pacific in nature. Looking forward to sharing this special place with him. Hope to blow his mind (again!). All at the Bar are warmly welcome whenever you can make it.
